Book Drive for Children in Texas

Hello, everyone.

The news of our fellowmen in Texas is heartbreaking, as such news always is. There is so much going on and so much that is missed. You see heartbreak, feel the courage through the television, and before you know it you have a whole lot of energy pent up in your throat, realizing how much this is affecting you. It’s the humanity in us, and I wish we would hone in on it more often…before catastrophes. Still, we do feel it and we want to do something about it. Some of us are able to go and help in person. Some of us have sent money or donated items. Some of us want to send something to uplift spirits; in particular children’s spirits. We want to bring normalcy or a…’deep breath’ moment in a situation that is so chaotic. This is why I thought about connecting books to what is happening in Texas with this disastrous and fatal hurricane weather system.

The ‘Once There Was a Book in Texas’ event is for us to send these children in Texas books. They won’t expect it and it will be such a beautiful surprise! I will use the Save the Children Foundation as the organization to whom we send the books.

What to do: Join the event by clicking on this link… Click Here

  1. You look through books and tell me what you would like to send.
  2. I put the order together and bill you through PayPal or the Cash phone app (if you don’t use PayPal it’s okay. I can invoice you on it and you can pay with a credit/debit card)
  3. I send the order to an address provided by Save the Children & send you proof.

Let’s bring some sunshine in these children’s lives and by virtue, in their families’ lives.

Let’s do this!
