All Thanks to Sno Cream & A Little Late Night Snacking

Hi everybody! Mambo?

Let me ask you this: have you been in the right place at the right time and realized it as it was happening? If you have, isn’t it soooo cool?

On Barefoot Baobab’s last trip to Tanzania πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡Ώ, I was out with my sis (my actual sis, not a virtual world sis πŸ˜‚), and we saw a server wear a fanny pack made with kitenge (key-ten-ghe). We asked where we could buy one and she said: “kuna muuzaji anapitaga hapa mara kwa mara ndiye anayeuza.”

You understand, right? πŸ˜ƒ If not, I got you: This one seller passes by every so often.

A few days went by, we went by there again, ate, but didn’t see the vendor.

A few more days passed and it was time to go to the airport. On the way from our last outing, my brother asked if I wanted ice cream. I declined, but thankfully he wanted some enough to make a late night stop at the legendary Sno Cream.

I’m telling all his secrets. πŸ˜‚

I waited in the car with sis, and who walks up to us asking if we wanted to buy some wallets? Eheeeee, you got it! A wallet vendor! We said “hapana, asante”, but as he was leaving we both spotted two kitenge fanny packs!! What?? Two? Two kitenge fanny packs!

80s kids be like…

I tell you! What are the chances?

I pick the one I love, my brother comes back and we head to the airport.

See, I was meant to leave a week earlier, but couldn’t. See how cool this really is? If I left as planned, we wouldn’t have seen him. 😎

To me, noticing being at the right place at the right time, truly feels like being aligned with the universe itself. The cool thing is, for better or worse, that we might just be at the right place at the right time…all the time. 🀯

Have a beautiful day, everyone, and thank you for stopping by. πŸ™πŸ½
